desert-island-beach-no-2
Desert Island Beach No. 2

I photographed this image on Ilha Deserta, a barrier island in the Ria Formosa National Park in Portugal. The island is uninhabited, aside from one solar powered restaurant (O Estaminé) and the beach seems to go on forever. I was there on a warm September afternoon just as the tide was coming in, and the large, thundering waves broke right on the beach. There were a few people here and there, but not crowded by any means, and it really felt like I had stumbled upon the most amazing hidden gem.

I was walking along the beach and the light was absolutely magical. The thick salt haze softened the lines of everything, and a faint sunshine filtered through the mist. The scene in front of me looked like something out of a movie, and I couldn’t stop taking pictures. This is one of my favorite images from that day.

PRINT DETAILS
The image is printed on matte archival cotton rag fine art paper with a 0.5” - 2” white border (depending on image size) and is signed on the border below the image. Print sizes refer to the total paper size, including the border (e.g., a 36x36-inch print has a 33x33-inch image with 1.5-inch borders).
